Hutto City Council unanimously approved a resolution on first reading for a voluntary annexation request of Wilco Ranch into its city limits, with two tracts of land totaling approximately 89.7 acres. The reasoning behind the voluntary annexation request, city staff confirmed, was to connect to the city's wastewater system.

The base zoning for the plat would be SF-1, or single-family. The land includes 457 residential lots, located on CR 199 at Limmer Loop. Ashley Lumpkin, executive director of business and development services, confirmed that given the annexation was voluntary, the annexation does not require a second ordinance reading and the resolution was approved following council's vote.
