The city of Pflugerville passed a contract for preliminary services on the Weiss Lane widening project at its meeting March 25. The $249,200 contract includes right-of-way and appraisal services.

About the project

The Weiss Lane project will widen the road from East Pecan Street to Pleasanton Parkway, and includes a bridge over Gilleland Creek. Initial project plans will expand the street to four lanes now while considering six lanes in the future, and construction is scheduled to wrap up in 2027.

Council passed the work authorization in consent, meaning there was no discussion on the item. It originally set the Weiss Lane widening project in motion with a $1.05 million design and engineering contract in December.

Looking ahead

The city will work with 7Arrows Land Staff on the project. The company will perform right-of-way acquisition appraisal and project management services, effectively pushing the project closer to construction.
