Pflugerville City Council approved a credit agreement for roadway impact fees July 25, making way for an extension of Kenney Fort Boulevard to eventually tie into ongoing infrastructure projects occurring in the region.

The overview

City Council approved the credit agreement for $2.14 million in roadway impact fees with LRF2 AUS Meister Lane LLC to be used for an extension of Kenney Fort Boulevard. The roadway, part of Pflugerville’s City Transportation Master Plan, will run from the south side of SH 45 to New Meister Lane in Pflugerville. It is meant to provide access for a future connection to the road being constructed in Round Rock. The credit agreement was approved on consent, meaning no discussion was held prior to a vote.

The outlook

Round Rock officials recently approved an engineering contract for two sections of Kenney Fort Boulevard, connecting East Old Settlers and University boulevards. In the meantime, the city of Round Rock has partnered with Williamson County to design and construct two other sections of the roadway, connecting Forest Creek Drive to SH 45. The $23.4 million project, expected to be finished by this fall, uses funding from Round Rock’s sales tax, $12.2 million in federal grant dollars from the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and a $1.5 million contribution from Williamson County.
