The city of Pflugerville has revised its original plans for the East Pecan Street and SH 130 improvement project to allow for more access to Sunlight Near Way and an additional left-turn lane for northbound Biltmore Avenue traffic turning left onto westbound Pecan Street.

According to an Aug. 19 news release from the city of Pflugerville, the revised design will include a hooded left turn lane for westbound traffic on Pecan Street to turn left at Sunlight Near Way. Left turns from Sunlight Near Way to Pecan Street will not be allowed.

However, once construction completes, traffic will only be right in/out from Impact Way onto East Pecan Street, according to a city of Pflugerville spokesperson.

Construction for the next phase of the project will begin no sooner than Sept. 7 to ensure that Northeast Metro Park is accessible through Sunlight Near Way for the soccer and baseball tournaments scheduled for Labor Day Weekend.

According to the news release, two of Biltmore Avenue, Sunlight Near Way and Impact Way will be accessible for right-turns-in and right-turns-out through the duration of construction.

Construction for the new phase had been pushed back from Aug. 14 to Aug. 21.

The new construction plans have shifted from the original plan that would have entirely closed off Impact Way for three weeks starting Aug. 21. The original plan also would have limited Sun Light Near Way traffic to right in/out from East Pecan Street.
