Construction is underway on a second location for Austin staple Top Notch Hamburgers. Located in the Co-Op District, Hutto's 35-acre mixed-use development, the restaurant is expected to open late this summer, according to a press release.

The original Top Notch opened in Austin in 1971, and the new Hutto location is the burger joint's first expansion since then.

"We think we’re a perfect fit for the Co-Op District because of its appreciation for small, iconic businesses and focus on building strong community synergy," owner Kelly Chappell said in the release.

The new Top Notch location will retain the original's menu, which includes charcoal-grilled burgers, fried chicken and hand-battered onion rings.

The release states Top Notch will begin hiring in late spring, employing 15-20 full-time employees and 25-30 part-time employees. www.topnotchaustin.com
