A number of medical facilities have opened or began construction in the past year in the growing Pflugerville-Hutto market, from a multispecialty surgical center and mental health clinic to several affordable health care facilities.

CommUnityCare

Affordable health care clinic CommUnityCare opened a Pflugerville location June 10. The clinic provides low-income and uninsured patients access to a variety of affordable medical and dental services, such as:
  • Pediatric care
  • Women’s health services
  • Adult behavioral health services
  • General dental care for children and adults
During the facility’s groundbreaking ceremony in 2022, CommUnityCare CEO Jaeson Fournier said that Pflugerville topped the list for ZIP codes in the area with the highest need for affordable care access.

Family Care Center

Mental and behavioral health care clinic Family Care Center opened a location in October in Pflugerville. The clinic offers a variety of services, such as:
  • Counseling for individuals, families and couples
  • Medication management
  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation to treat chronic illnesses
  • Child’s play therapy
According to a 2022 report from Mental Health America, Texas ranked 33rd in access to mental health services for adults and 41st for children.

“Family Care Center is responding to the needs of residents in the Austin area,” said Dr. Charles Weber, founder and chief medical officer of the clinic, in a news release.

Arthur Direct Care

Family-owned practice Arthur Direct Care, based in Round Rock, is expanding to Hutto in January. The low-cost clinic will be located in the Gattis School Medical Plaza.

Along with providing pediatric and adult primary care, urgent care and women’s health services, the clinic offers other unique services, such as:
  • Immigration medical exams
  • Department of Transportation physical exams
  • Travel medicine services, including recommendations for destination-specific vaccinations and prescriptions for travel-related illnesses
Pflugerville Surgery Center

A partnership between Texas Digestive Disease Consultants and Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is set to create the Pflugerville Surgery Center, a multispecialty ambulatory surgical center with medical offices slated to be fully built out by 2026.

Dr. Junaid Siddiqui said that the goal of the facility is to offer a wide variety of services such as OB-GYN and primary care services.

While the second phase of the project will consist of medical offices and an imaging center, the initial focus of the first phase is on inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, such as:
  • Care for esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, rectum, gallbladder, pancreas or liver concerns
  • Full-range endoscopic, diagnostic and therapeutic services
