The average Pflugerville homeowner will see an increase to their property taxes for fiscal year 2025-26, after City Council approved the city’s tax rate and budget Sept. 9.

The overview

Council approved a property tax rate of $0.5350 per $100 valuation for FY 2025-26. Although the rate is lower than last year’s $0.5428, the average homestead value rose by approximately 3.8%., causing the average property tax bill to increase.
At the approved rate, the average Pflugerville homestead, valued at $378,234, will see an annual increase of $45.41 in property taxes, or $3.78 per month. In total, the average homestead will pay $2,023 for the year.
The city’s property tax is expected to generate roughly $29 million in revenue for Pflugerville’s general fund for its FY 2025-26 budget. The city is also anticipating about $20.3 million in sales tax revenue.

Breaking it down

Officials also approved next year’s budget, which goes into effect Oct. 1, to the sum of $783.2 million. Broken down, the budget’s expenditures are:
  • Government fund: $387 million
  • Special revenue fund: $8.2 million
  • Utility fund: $365.2 million
  • Pflugerville Community Development Corporation fund: $22.8 million
"This budget delivers on our promise to build a thriving Pflugerville,” said Pflugerville Mayor Victor Gonzales. “Every decision is guided by community needs, ensuring vital investments in roads, water and downtown projects that support a strong quality of life.”


The budget includes $278.8 million in funding for general capital improvements projects and $287 million for utility capital improvement projects. Expenses include over $132 million for the city’s Downtown East project, $52.8 million for a new public works facility, $90.4 million for the construction of the Wilbarger Wastewater Treatment Plant and $74.4 million for renovations to the Secondary Colorado River Raw Water Line, among other projects.
