The city of Hutto and Directors of Chaos, the company which previously managed events at Brushy Creek Amphitheater, mutually agreed to terminate their contract effective immediately, according to a press release July 26.

The most recent concert cancellation at the venue is a result of this termination, city officials said.

Some context

DOC had agreed to book at least ten shows at Brushy Creek Amphitheater when its contract began with the city in April 2023. From July to December 2023, only one show was successfully held. The management company revised its contract with Hutto in March, under the stipulation that it would book at least five shows by the end of this year.

RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles, was scheduled for Aug. 1 at the amphitheater, but was later canceled. The city hosted a free Fourth of July event earlier this month, but the concert would have been the first at Brushy Creek Amphitheater this year.

Quote of note

“We assure our community and patrons that we are actively seeking new management solutions to uphold the quality and enjoyment of our future events,” city officials said in the press release.
