As Hutto and Pflugerville's populations continue to grow, both cities have seen an increase in average household income by close to 30% over the past five years, according to a recent release of the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey estimates.

Recent reporting by Community Impact has indicated an explosion of growth in Hutto—both commercial and residential—particularly after news broke of Samsung’s new location along the eastern edge of Hutto.

Hutto has increased in population by 30% from 2017 to 2022, more than tripling the 7% rate of growth for the state overall.
Additionally, the Hutto community has seen a nearly 34% increase in household income in the five-year period, outpacing the state’s 26% increase for average household income.

While Pflugerville has seen a more steady rate of population growth at about 11%, the community also experienced a boost in household income. Similar to that of the state, ACS estimates indicate a 25% increase in the average household income for Pflugerville from 2017 to 2022.
