Hutto residents with downed trees on their property after the recent freeze have several options for disposing of brush.

On Feb. 11, the city will hold a community cleanup event at Adam Orgain Park from 8 a.m.-noon, where residents can bring their brush for disposal.

Alternatively, residents who cut their brush into 3- to 4-foot lengths and bind them into bundles of 35 pounds or less can leave them on the curb for pickup with regular waste collection.

Emergency Management Coordinator Bill Zito Jr. said a plan is also in the works for city to collect brush from residents’ curbs. He said more details on the plan will be available next week.

Additional information about brush disposal methods is available on the city's website.
