An assortment of infrastructure improvements are on the way to support industrial development at Hutto's Megasite—an approximately 1,400-acre tract of land on Hwy. 79 earmarked for industrial development.

At a Nov. 3 meeting, Hutto City Council approved expenditures for two such projects.

For one of the projects, an electric substation that will provide power to the Megasite, council authorized the Hutto Economic Development Corporation to provide a $150,451 grant to Prologis Logistic Services Inc.

Prologis is bringing a 220-acre datacenter campus to the Megasite in partnership with Skybox Datacenters.

The second project is a spine road connecting FM 3349 and CR 132 through the Megasite. The road will provide connectivity for Titan Development's planned industrial park at the site.

For that project, council authorized HEDC to provide the city a $750,000 reimbursement grant for design and engineering work.

The city has several more road and utility projects in the works to support the Megasite, including construction of new waterlines on which design work recently began.
