A major Pflugerville water project is set to move into its next phase of preparation following action from Pflugerville City Council.

At an Oct. 11 meeting, council approved a $293,700 work authorization with CBRE Inc. for appraisal services related to the Secondary Colorado River Raw Water Line project.

The project will ultimately construct 15 miles of water pipeline from the Colorado River to Lake Pflugerville that will increase the city's available water supply by approximately 12,000 acre-feet per year.

It is one of several major water and wastewater projects in the works in Pflugerville.

According to city materials, the appraisal work will involve appraising 89 total parcels of land where the city will require either permanent or temporary access for construction of the pipeline.

CBRE is expected to begin appraisals in October and wrap up by January 2023. Construction bidding for the project is expected to take place in spring 2023.
