Unofficial election results show Charlie Torres secured the Place 2 seat on the Pflugerville ISD board of trustees with 1,915 votes, or 56.52% of the vote.

Challenger Melissa Lee received 1,473 votes, or 43.48%.

"I’m very proud and honored that the community has given me the opportunity to serve on this board," Torres said. "Of course, I do want to thank Melissa for a campaign that was run very well and I appreciate her support. ... At this point, I‘m just honored to be given the opportunity to serve our school board."


Alex Okafor, who ran uncontested, received 2,774 votes.

Vote totals are based on unofficial Travis County results; results are unofficial until canvassed.

Charlie Torres maintains the lead for the PfISD Place 2 seat with 1,349 votes, or 55.58%, against challenger Melissa Lee, who has garnered 1,078 votes, or 44.42%.


Alex Okafor is running uncontested for Place 1 and has received 2,004 votes.

Based on preliminary Travis County election results, Charlie Torres is in the lead for the Pflugerville ISD board Place 2 seat with 1,285 votes, or 56.06% of the votes. Challenger Melissa Lee has received 1,007 votes, or 43.94%.

Alex Okafor is running uncontested for Place 1. He received 1,894 votes during the early voting period.


Up for election

Okafor is a sports analyst and retired professional athlete who sponsored the Kingdom United reading program at Spring Hill Elementary.

Torres is the president of the Pflugerville Education Foundation, a former Gregory-Portland ISD trustee and has served on a number of PfISD committees. Lee is a PfISD volunteer and community advocate with a background in corporate finance, strategic planning and analytics.

Place 1 incumbent David Aguirre, who serves as secretary, was first elected to the board in 2021 and did not file for re-election. Place 2 incumbent Tony Hanson, who serves as vice president, was first elected to the board in 2017 and also did not file for re-election.
