Dana Wilcott defeated James Weaver in a June 10 runoff election for Hutto City Council Place 5.

Data from Williamson County shows Wilcott won with 315 votes to Weaver's 186, or roughly 63% to 37%.

The city held a runoff election after no candidate for Hutto City Council Place 5 received more than 50% of the votes in the May 6 election.

In the city of Hutto, any race with more than two candidates goes to a runoff election if no candidate garners 50% or more of the total votes.

The final results in the May 6 election ended up revealing a razor-thin margin for second place. While Wilcott took the lion's share with 608 votes, Weaver and candidate Marcus Coleman differed by only two votes: 346 to 344, respectively.
