Thousands of Pflugerville ISD community members provided input on the district's 2025-26 academic calendar, which the board of trustees approved during its Feb. 20 meeting.

How we got here

The board previously considered two calendar drafts at its Jan. 16 meeting. A community survey ran from Dec. 20 to Feb. 10, and per the February administration report, the first calendar option received the most votes with 1,572 votes recorded.

Dates to know

Along with recognizing federal holidays, such as Labor Day on Sept. 1, Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 19 and Presidents' Day on Feb. 16, other key dates include:
  • Aug. 11: meet the teacher
  • Aug. 13: first day of school
  • Oct. 13: Indigenous Peoples' Day
  • Oct. 17: student holiday
  • Oct. 20: Diwali
  • Oct. 31: early release day
  • Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break
  • Dec. 22-Jan. 5: winter break
  • March 16-20: spring break
  • April 3: Easter break
  • May 21: last day of school
The calendar also has bad weather make up days built in on Oct. 20 and Jan. 19.


Something to note

The 2025-26 school year will finish before Memorial Day on May 25. Additionally, PfISD's spring break is aligned with the University of Texas at Austin, Austin Community College District and other Austin-area school districts.
