Hutto ISD enrollment rises by over 500 students for 2024-25 school year

Hutto ISD added more than 500 students to its total enrollment, a new demographic update shows.

In a quarterly demographic update from district demographer Bob Templeton of Zonda Education given Dec. 12, Templeton said the district added 559 new students to the district—about 40 students higher than originally projected by the firm.

Hutto ISD to propose elementary attendance rezoning in January

An adjustment to existing attendance boundaries for Hutto ISD elementary schools will be proposed to the board of trustees in January, district administrators said in December.

With HISD's eighth elementary school, Lee Martinez Elementary School, set to open this fall, administrators will propose a rezone, or adjustment to the attendance boundaries, for elementary school students next month, said Dustin Barton, HISD's assistant superintendent of operations at the board's Dec. 12 meeting.

Hutto ISD approves contracts for 5 2019, 2023 bond projects

Several campuses in Hutto ISD will receive updates, after trustees approved five bond-funded contracts in December.


What you need to know

Hutto ISD trustees approved contracts for five capital improvement projects Dec. 12, ranging from new playground equipment to a consultation for roof repairs.

The projects total about $1.9 million, and are funded through a combination of 2019 and 2023 bond monies, as well as a Texas Education Agency Safety and Facility Enhancement grant.
