Hutto ISD will launch a new data viewing platform for teachers, parents and students over the 2024-25 school year, providing a more detailed view of student information all in one place.

What you need to know

The district will soon begin using K-12 data platform Abre to view and analyze student data, identify trends and improve student achievement in a central location, saving administrators and teachers time when looking for student achievement data to build classroom strategies.

Data that will be tracked on the platform include:
  • ACT, SAT, STAAR and other assessments
  • Student attendance, behavior and discipline
  • District wide enrollment and demographics
  • Student schedules
The context

Brittany Swanson, HISD's associate superintendent of instruction and innovation, said this tool will provide teachers with a better way to drill down on classroom trends and begin offering feedback to improve student performance.

Swanson said the district began uploading beginning-of-year data this month, and will begin using the platform for student intervention support and goal tracking, as well as during parent-teacher conferences beginning in November.

In the spring, she said the district will begin providing digital tokens to parents to access the system and view their students' performance and progress.

Eventually, Swanson said, the platform will provide parents a central dashboard for all of their student's data.

What they're saying

"Teachers have the ability, through the Class 360, to start answering some of these questions, about the student, their class," Swanson said. "Eventually, in the Student 360, a kid can access their data and be empowered to start saying, 'Hey, I have a trend here,' or 'I'm having a gap in this area that I want someone to come in and support me with.'"
