Hutto ISD projects $850K in recapture payments to state for FY 2024-25

As Hutto ISD heads into budget season for fiscal year 2024-25, new projections show the district may pay about $270,000 more to the state in recapture than it did in the previous year.

Hutto ISD proposes $122M budget for FY 2024-25

Hutto ISD is proposing a $122.06 million budget for fiscal year 2024-25, with a projected shortfall of $3.5 million amid increased costs of operation as well as what staff and officials describe as inadequate state funding.

What happened


District staff shared a proposed budget breakdown, including a total tax rate of $1.20520 per $100 of valuation for FY 2024-25, which begins July 1, during a June 13 hearing on the budget and tax rate. This rate is $0.0230 lower than the previous year's tax rate of $1.20750.

The tax rate will fund a planned operating budget of $122.06 million for FY 2024-25. Staff shared a projected $118.54 million in revenue from local, state and federal sources for this budget year as well.
