On April 1, Hutto ISD launched its annual enrollment window for new and returning students with some new and improved features to streamline and enhance the process.

What you need to know

Ahead of the enrollment window's opening, district administrators shared several updates to the online enrollment process that showed improvements in user experience, including the implementation of custom forms with fewer and more concise fields for parents to fill out.

The details

In addition to simplifying the information required from parents enrolling their students, Brittany Swanson, HISD's associate superintendent of instruction and innovation, shared that the process has been similarly streamlined for returning students, using the following methods:
  • Reduced pop-ups
  • Reduced forms
  • Used concise language
  • Addressed issues with translation of campus names for Spanish speakers
For example, Swanson said language around the different processes for new and returning students has been clarified. Parents of new students will complete their enrollment, while parents of returning students will simply reverify their information to ensure it is correct.
