What's happening?
The PfISD board of trustees will hold its monthly workshop Sept. 7. An agenda for the workshops shows updates regarding a district initiative to provide workforce housing for employees and the construction of a CTE center will be given. The board will also discuss how it will meet the requirement to have an armed security guard on each campus as laid out in House Bill 3, which went into effect Sept. 1.
The backstory
Voters approved measures to fund the purchase of property for and the construction of workforce housing and a CTE center in November. Voters approved $76 million for the design and construction of the CTE center in Proposition G, while $43.92 million was approved for the workforce housing initiative in Proposition H.
