All Pflugerville ISD students will receive free breakfast and lunch for the duration of the 2021-22 school year.

The decision from the district came thanks to an allowance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to a July 1 news release.

The USDA allowance does not require applications for eligibility for the coming year, but the release stated those requirements will likely kick in again for the 2022-23 school year.

To that end, the release states PfISD will "process household applications this year, to ensure student eligibility for free or reduced-price meals during the first 30 days of the 2022-23 school year while applications that year are being processed."

Each district school or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request.

According to the release, PfISD began sending letters to district households July 1, breaking down eligibility requirements for the 2022-23 school year.
