Morelia Mexican Grill permanently closed its Pflugerville location Jan. 1 after 10 years at the Stone Hill Town Center.

The restaurant shuttered because of their "lease situation," according to a social media announcement.

Some context

This comes as two other businesses in the shopping center, Kirkland's and Children's Place, announced early 2024 closures as well.

"The center is over 15 years old now and many of these tenants opened 10-15 years ago. The center and this market has grown exponentially during that time frame. ... Naturally, this will result in some turnover as certain tenants can’t afford the new market rents and landlord looks to upgrade the tenant mix," Stone Hill Town Center broker Josh Friedlander said in an emailed statement.

Another detail

Morelia still operates two other locations in Bastrop and Elgin.
