Pflugerville City Council approved the first reading to rezone about 75 acres of agriculture land to be used for residential, general business and open park space. The site is located on the southeast corner of Cameron Road and Steger Lane, bordering the Meadowlark Preserve neighborhood and a Pflugerville ISD property.

“This is really on the outskirts,” Planning Manager Yasmin Turk said.

The breakdown

The request includes:
  • 50 acres for single-family residential space
  • 9 acres for single-family mixed use intended to be townhomes
  • 3.5 acres for general business
  • 12 acres for park or open space
“I would love to see some missing middle homeownership opportunities,” Place 5 council member Melody Ryan said at the June 24 meeting.

What else?


The engineer on the project is In the process of doing a floodplain study and has plans to tie in to the wastewater system that the Meadowlark Preserve neighborhood is currently using. For water, the development team is utilizing Manville Water Supply.

The project also includes a connection between Jesse Bohls Drive and Steger Lane.
