A family entertainment center in Hutto, formerly being built as EVO Entertainment, will now be executed as Hooky, Es Vedra Cinema’s new brand.

The details

Hooky will offer a range of entertainment options, including:

• A game room and bowling alley
• A grab-and-go concession station
• A scratch kitchen
• Eight movie auditoriums, including one IMAX and two Dolby Atmos auditoriums
• Event/party rooms

The movie and bowling venue is still on track to open in May, said Chris Cline, head of development at Es Vedra Cinemas, in a presentation to the Hutto Economic Development Corporation on March 10.

“We are definitely in the finishing stage,” Cline said. “The city has worked with us on all the inspections.”

What else?

Es Vedra Cinemas worked with branding agency Helms Workshop to create Hooky.

“If you think about what EVO was, this is bigger, better, stronger, faster, more exciting, more involved and more elevated while still being really accessible,” founder and Creative Director Christian Helms said at the EDC meeting.

Some background

Austin-based Es Vedra Cinemas separated from business partner Elevate Entertainment Group, the parent company of EVO Entertainment, in February. EEG retained the EVO brand when the two businesses split properties.

Es Vedra Cinema also owns Violet Crown Cinemas and ShowBiz Cinemas.
