Due to the split, the new venue will no longer be branded as an EVO Entertainment center. However, plans for the facility still include movie theaters, bowling lanes, arcade gaming and dining options, and an opening is set for this May.
What happened
With the separation of the two companies, their portfolio of theaters and entertainment properties will be divvied up between the two.
While EEG will retain the EVO brand, the Hutto venue will fall under Es Vedra Cinema’s new brand, which has not been announced. Es Vedra Cinema owns Violet Crown Cinemas, ShowBiz Cinemas and others.
Plans for the venue include:
- Eight-screen cinema with IMAX
- 12 full-size bowling lanes
- Arcade space
- Food, beverage and cocktail options
The background
The announcement comes roughly eight months since developers broke ground on the entertainment venue in 2024.
This is also the second time plans for a movie theater in Hutto have changed. In 2019, the city was presented a layout of The Hutto Co-Op District with a Flix Brewhouse included in the plans. However, in 2021 it was announced that developer would not move forward on the project.
