About 83 acres on either side of Limmer Loop, along SH 130, could become an employee activity center if Hutto City Council votes to annex the land.

The tracts could include more than just office space, but a mixture of retail, industrial and other nonresidential development types, according to city documents.

The details

The development site, known as Logistics Park, is in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Williamson County.

No residents live on the property, which is zoned for agriculture use. City Council would have to vote to annex the land to be part of city limits as well as designate the site for light industrial zoning for the complex to move forward.

This area would be suitable to support health care services, large employers that don’t have offices in Hutto and specialized facilities like information technology, according to city documents. Plans show that 40% of the site would be designated for industrial use, 40% for offices, 10% for retail and another 10% for other uses. If actualized, the complex could support 22 jobs per acre.

Looking forward

City Council will consider the ordinance to annex and rezone the land at its meeting Sept. 5, and possibly take action.
