A new development agreement could soon be in place for the Co-Op District, a 35-acre mixed-use development on Hwy. 79 in Hutto.

The city and Co-Op developer MA Partners have been in the process of renegotiating the agreement since November, when city council members raised concerns about the existing agreement.

In particular, officials expressed that they would like to see more stringent requirements for parking in the development.

Council will review and consider approving the revised agreement at a May 4 meeting.

Several businesses are under construction or have recently opened in the Co-Op, including Top Notch Hamburgers and Jack Allen's Kitchen.

However, further development—including development of the Co-Op's multifamily residential portion—is on hold until the new development agreement is in place.
