Hutto's new city manager, James Earp, swore into office at an Aug. 4 Hutto City Council meeting after beginning work as city manager Aug. 3.

Council appointed Earp, who previously served as Kyle's assistant city manager, to the position July 7.

Earp takes over for interim City Manager Isaac Turner, who served beginning in January while the city searched for a new long-term city manager.

"We definitely appreciate all the wisdom and leadership that [Turner] brought to us," Council Member Dan Thornton said. "[He] helped get us much better organized than we were seven months ago. We still have plenty of work to do, but we're in much better shape than we were."
