Following a joint decision by Hutto City Council and City Manager Warren Hutmacher, Hutmacher will separate from the city effective Nov. 12.

Hutmacher came to work in Hutto from Georgia in October 2020, but could not commit to a timeline to move within Hutto city limits as per city ordinance, according to a city press release.

“We believe it’s important for our city manager to live in the city where we all live,” Mayor Mike Snyder said in the release. “The timing just wasn’t right for [Hutmacher] and his family. We wish them well and thank Warren for his service.”

The city will now select an interim city manager before beginning the search for a new long-term city manager.

The release said Hutmacher and other city officials came to the decision mutually, and relations between Hutmacher and the city remain amicable.

“I’m proud of the work we have done together with council, staff and the community,” Hutmacher said. “Hutto is on a fast-growth trajectory, and I am certain Hutto will continue to be a great place to live, work and play."
