After experiencing delays since 2021 for an initially planned Round Rock location, Crux Climbing Center now shows substantial signs of progress toward opening on property in Pflugerville, at the corner of Heatherwilde Boulevard and Kingston Lacy Boulevard.

The big picture

The company encountered problems in the design phase while trying to erect the structure in a Round Rock business park, thus the company relocated their efforts to Pflugerville in 2022.

Local climbers can expect a roughly 30,000-square-foot facility with 55-foot rope-climbing walls, a bouldering area and a yoga studio by this summer.

The addition of this new location will mark the company's third branch, giving rock-climbing enthusiasts a north option alongside its existing locations in South and Central Austin.

Presale memberships have already sold out, according to the company’s website.
