Shontel Mays, president and CEO of the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, announced her resignation from the chamber May 19.

Mays' last day with the Pflugerville Chamber will be July 22, after which she will move into a position at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.

Her tenure as the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce president and CEO began in 2018.

“I am so grateful for the time I’ve had in Pflugerville,” Mays said in a press release. “It has been a privilege to work with such an amazing group of people. I am confident the hard work and positive changes we’ve accomplished over the last four years has put the Pflugerville Chamber in a strong position to continue moving forward.”

According to the release, the chamber's board of directors is assembling a search committee to find a new president and CEO. Mays will work together with the board and the committee to facilitate the transition.

“On behalf of the board, I thank Shontel for her many contributions to our members and the entire community," said Gwen Pyle, chair of the board of directors, in a statement. "Her leadership during the pandemic was instrumental in supporting our local businesses, and her presence in the community will very much be missed.”
