Upcoming projects
Bee Cave Parkway pavement improvement project
Project: The pavement improvement project on Bee Cave Parkway between RM 620 and Hwy. 71 will include a 2-inch mill and a 2 1/4-inch overlay on the road, along with new striping and new signage.
Update: Bee Cave City Council awarded the bid for the project to Texas Materials Group on April 28.
Project: The project will reconstruct CR 199 from CR 132 to FM 1660 South in Hutto.
Update: In January, city council approved orders for coordination services with Union Pacific Railroad and the Texas Department of Transportation, including utility coordination services. Per city documents, the current Capital Improvement 5-Year Plan has funding for construction in Fiscal Year 2028.
Project: Parkway Drive in Pflugerville will be reconstructed into an urban road section with pavement, curb, gutter drainage, sidewalks and streetlights.
Update: Per city information, the project reached the final design and bidding preparation phase in March and is expected to bid in May.
Ongoing projects
Main Street and Firecracker Drive
Project: A traffic signal will be installed at the Buda intersection. The installation of the signal is planned and funded as part of Buda’s Main Street East Expansion Project and an interlocal agreement with Hays County.
Update: Hays County commissioners approved a professional services agreement between Hays County and Garver LLC to provide construction, engineering and inspection services on the project in Precinct 2 on April 28.
Project: The 7-mile stretch of highway in Austin has been undergoing a $677 million facelift since 2021. The Texas Department of Transportation is currently reconstructing Hwy. 290 in Oak Hill, transforming the existing four-lane, undivided roadway to a six-lane divided highway with new frontage roads and 14 miles of shared-use paths, according to TxDOT documents.
Update: According to TxDOT, the Hwy. 290 and SH 71 flyovers will open as early as mid-May. The Convict Hill cross-street bridge opened in April.
Completed projects
Project: The city of Round Rock is expanding Gattis School Road—from A.W. Grimes Boulevard to Double Creek Drive—into a six-lane divided roadway, as well as adding pedestrian improvements, bicycle enhancements and right- and left-turn bays with new traffic signals to A.W. Grimes and Double Creek.
Update: Per city officials, construction on segment 3 of the road was completed in May. Construction on segment 6 is still ongoing and expected to be complete by late 2027.
