Capital Metro Rail Red Line service is suspended Feb. 27-March 3 as work continues on McKalla Station near Q2 Stadium, according to a CapMetro press release.

CapMetro will have shuttles to the Leander, Lakeline, Howard and Downtown stations along with alternative bus service going downtown to prevent service interruptions. More information on alternative routes can be found on CapMetro’s website.

Alongside the construction of the new station, a 150- to 200-foot portion of Rutland Drive is closed from Feb. 26-March 1 in each direction near the rail tracks. Drainage improvements, the relocation of water lines and the development of quiet zones are also being worked on in the North Burnet neighborhood during this time, according to the press release.

McKalla Station is being built as part of Project Connect, a multibillion-dollar plan expanding Austin's transportation infrastructure including two light rail lines and multiple new bus routes. The new station is scheduled to be operational by the 2024 Austin FC season, and additional work will take place near Rundberg Lane and Braker Lane in July.

Additional information on construction is available to customers through CapMetro’s Customer Service Go Line at 512-474-1200.
