Williamson county has moved ahead with improvements on Chandler Road from SH 130 to Hwy. 95 as well as with work on Seward Junction Loop north of Hwy. 29.
Williamson County Commissioners Court approved the names of engineering and architectural firms that will work on the design stage Sept. 27.
The evaluation committee for the Chandler Road project included Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles. It recommended BGE Inc. and DEC—Central Texas LLC to provide engineering services and schematic design, the first phase in the architectural design process. The project is for the widening of Chandler Road in two segments—from SH 130 to CR 101, and from CR 101 to Hwy. 95.
The Seward Junction Loop project will create a loop around the intersection of 183 North and Hwy. 29. The southeast and southwest portions are already built, said Connie Odom, public affairs manager for Williamson County. For the rest of the project, the evaluation committee, which included Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long, selected LJA Engineering Inc.
Both projects are funded with dollars allocated for the Long Range Transportation Plan. These are for engineering design services, not construction, Odom said. Service for each project is expected to not exceed $1 million each.
