The Capital Metro board approved in December the regional Project Connect transit map that outlines priority corridors for future bus and rail services in Central Texas.

In April, Capital Metro will start an environmental engineering study on the Orange Line, which will run on North Lamar Boulevard from Tech Ridge down South Congress Avenue to Southpark Meadows. A few months after that, the agency will start a study of the Blue Line, which runs from the airport along Riverside Drive north to the Austin Community College Highland campus. Capital Metro will also meet with stakeholders to get input on tradeoffs, parking and dedicated paths for transit. The agency will begin studying modes of transit in 2020.
