“I work with people at all stages of their cancer journey, from initial diagnosis through recovery and on less happy occasions, through hospice care,” wrote Kool in an email. “My purpose is to provide healing services and oncology-safe products and treatments for the individual dealing with cancer as well as caregivers and loved ones.”
She operates out the Cancer Rehab and Integrative Medicine offices at 4130 Spicewood Springs Road, Ste. 100, and the newly opened 1306 W. Anderson Lane location.
Some of the services offered include a full menu of facials, hand and foot treatment, back facials and LED treatments. She sells Hale & Hush products and radiation burn cream. Hale & Hush is formulated for extremely sensitive and health-challenged skin.
“Skin care often gets overlooked during a cancer journey, and as the largest organ of our body it is important to prevent damage to the skin barrier from harsh medications and treatments such as radiation and targeted therapies,” Kool said. “Damage to the skin barrier invites infection into the body, which is an unnecessary complication. Often people have severe skin reactions to their treatments that they don’t know what to do about. Medical teams are focusing on saving lives and often don’t have time or interest in skin-related issues. Oncology-safe skin care services and products are so important, yet it is such an unknown in the community. My goal is for everyone touched by cancer to know this exists and how it can be beneficial to both physical and mental health.”
Kool said cancer patients must get approved for all services from their oncologists before they receive services, but once they get the green light, they are able to continue receiving them.
Kool sees clients on an appointment only basis from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at the Anderson Lane location and Mondays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Spicewood Springs Road location.
