An interactive gallery celebrating ice cream is coming to North Austin later this summer.

The Museum of Ice Cream announced July 8 it is opening its third location worldwide inside The Domain this August. The gallery operates other locations in New York and Singapore.

This location will feature a dozen installations “dedicated to the celebration and experience of enjoying ice cream,” according to the museum’s July 8 news release.

“We started the journey of the Museum of Ice Cream in Austin as an idea at SXSW in 2016. We knew then that the combination of Austin's love of amazing food, experiences, art and, most importantly, its inclusiveness and welcoming culture would make the city a wonderful home for [the Museum of Ice Cream,]” said Maryellis Bunn, co-founder and creative director, in the news release.

Visitors at the Museum of Ice Cream, located at 11506 Century Oaks Terrace, Ste. 128, Austin, can get a Shirley Temple soft serve inside a retro-style diner and ride on a life-sized animal cookie.

The museum further features a pool filled with candy sprinkles, complete with a slide. At this location in The Domain, the Museum of Ice Cream is also offering visitors the opportunity to rent pool-side cabanas for a private experience.

Tickets for the experience through Sept. 30 are on sale starting July 8 with the price of admission starting at $39. To purchase tickets, visit the Museum of Ice Cream’s website.
