Southside Market & Barbeque—the state’s oldest barbecue restaurant that opened in 1882 in Elgin—is opening its North Austin outpost Nov. 24.

The new restaurant, located in The Shops at Arbor Walk, 10515 N. MoPac, Ste. B-225, Austin, will serve a full menu of slow-smoked meats, housemade sides and desserts. The North Austin location will also have a meat market where customers can purchase premium meats to take home. Online ordering and pickup will also be available.

Owner Bryan Bracewell's family bought the historic Southside Market in 1968. The restaurant was founded by William J. Moon and is known for its beef sausage, according to a news release. He and his wife, Rachel, are also planning to open an additional location in Hutto in 2020.
