Following rainy conditions in much of Central Texas April 25, both Travis and Williamson County officials signed orders lifting the county's burn ban for unincorporated areas effective April 26 at 5 p.m.

According to both orders, conditions in the unincorporated areas of the counties no longer pose a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.

Travis and Williamson Commissioners Court previously instated the burn ban—which prohibiting outdoor burning in all unincorporated areas of Williamson County as well as smoking in county parks, preserves and trails—on April 5.

Williamson County is still asking residents to exercise caution with any burning activity, and to notify a local fire department and the county's communications department before conducting a control burn.
