The Austin Parks Foundation will host free playdates and movie nights in local parks from April through June. Here is a look at what each event involves and how to participate.

Playdates in the Park

The Austin Parks Foundation will host playdates at various local parks. As part of the Playdates in the Park series running from March through May, the events involve story time, crafts, singing, exercise and more to get children active and support development. Events begin at 10 a.m.
  • April 12: Garrison District Park, 6001 Menchaca Road, Austin
  • April 29: Alderbrook Pocket Park, 12444 Lamplight Village Ave., Austin
  • May 10: Armadillo Neighborhood Park, 910 Armadillo Road, Austin
  • May 27: Patterson Neighborhood Park, 4200 Brookview Road, Austin
Movies in the Park

The Austin Parks Foundation will also host three movie screenings in neighborhood parks from April through June. This event is for older children and adults, and movies start at dusk. Dogs, picnics and lawn chairs are welcome.
  • April 27: “Lego Batman” at 7 p.m. at Dove Springs District Park, 5801 Ainez Drive, Austin
  • May 25: “Free Guy” at 7:30 p.m. at Gus Garcia District Park, 1201 E. Rundberg Lane, Austin
  • June 29: “The Sandlot” at 7 p.m. at Govalle Neighborhood Park, 5200 Bolm Road, Austin
