Hinojosa ran uopposed in the Democratic primary.
Meyer earned 71.76% of total votes in Travis County, maintaining the initial surge he enjoyed from early voting totals. GOP challenger Jenai Aragona-Hales earned just under 900 votes for the Texas House District 49 Republican primary race. Travis County vote totals show 42,196 voters cast ballots for all Republican primary races.
Some polling locations experienced delays in opening and tallying votes as multiple election judges and poll workers failed to show up to their posts, Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir said March 3.
“Super Tuesday got off to a rocky start due to multiple no-shows of many election judges and poll workers. To the extent that the Elections Office was given a reason, it seems people were fearful of the Coronavirus,” the clerk’s office said in a written statement.
All vote counts are unofficial until canvassed.
