Residents of Austin and neighboring cities can check out four new dining spots, including a hot dog eatery and an Indian restaurant.

In addition to the recently opened locations, Bastrop and Cedar Park locals can read about restaurants that are coming soon. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Foxtail

The space features 58 seats, and bartenders specialize in craft cocktails, such as the Ristretto Martini, a spice-forward riff on an espresso martini, and the Kitsune, a signature old fashioned built with Suntory Toki Whisky, honey and bitters.2. Judy’s Dogs


Judy’s Dogs is carving out its niche at the Chestnut Grove Food Truck Court in Bastrop, with elevated takes on the classic hot dog. Its menu includes a chili mac dog, a basic chili cheese dog and a lobster roll dog.

3. Shallots Indian Cuisine

The restaurant serves classic Indian breakfast dishes, such as dosas and idli, meat, seafood and rice dishes, and naan. Also on the menu are street snacks, such as samosas, pakoras and Mumbai burgers, and drinks such as mango lassi and masala chai.

4. Slim Chickens

Slim Chickens is now serving a variety of fried and grilled chicken options in Kyle. The Arkansas-based brand offers 14 dipping sauces and Southern-style sides, such as fried okra and potato salad.

5. First Watch


First Watch will offer fresh, seasonal menu options just off Hwy. 71, including made-to-order breakfast, brunch and lunch choices, a company representative told Community Impact.

6. J. Alexander’s

J. Alexander’s restaurant is planning a new location in Cedar Park, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The restaurant, which serves a variety of American food, craft beers and cocktails, currently has three Texas locations, with new branches opening in Plano and Prosper in early 2026. The Cedar Park location will be the first in the greater Austin area.
