The first meeting is Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and the second event is Nov. 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. Both meetings will be in Huffman Hall at St. Matthew’s Church, 8134 Mesa Drive, Austin, near Anderson High School. The city plans to spend $750,000 to develop, design and construct the first phase of park improvements at Bull Creek District Park, located at 6701 Lakewood Drive, Austin, off Loop 360. Funding comes from the city’s 2012 general obligation bond. Part of the planning process includes gathering public input on park needs. Of amenities park users said they would most want, the top three responses were 47 percent for trash and recycling receptacles, 35 percent for an improved trailhead and 33 percent for improved restrooms. The city acquired the 48-acre park in 1971 with federal funding. Bull Creek District Park has three parking areas, restrooms, a water fountain, picnic tables and a sand volleyball court. Many park users are from the 78731, 78750 and 78759 ZIP codes.
