Voters will decide in November whether to support Travis County’s $291.6 million bond proposal to build a new civil and family courts complex. Commissioners were updated July 14 on public outreach plans regarding the proposed courthouse.

Voter approval of the funds would result in an approximate annual tax increase of $42 on a $325,000 home, or about $3.50 per month, Martha Dickie, chairwoman of the Courthouse Focus Committee, said at the campaign kickoff in June. The existing Heman Marion Sweatt Travis County Courthouse was built in the 1930s.
