Once located near Austin FC's Q2 Stadium, electronics manufacturer Quantic Wenzel has outgrown its space amid the area’s rapid development spurred by the stadium’s economic impact.

'What in the Quantic Wenzel'

Quantic Wenzel creates super, high-precision electronic clocks used in all types of space applications, but also on naval ships, fighter jets and quantum computers.

The company famously manufactured time systems for the Mars Landers.

“The first thing that landed on Mars was because our clock was right in the center of it, making sure the whole system worked properly,” said Joseph Svoboda, the company's vice president and general manager.

Zooming in

After operating from the same North Austin location since 1978, Quantic Wenzel has now relocated due to the businesses growing popularity and real estate changes in the booming stadium district.

“It was some of the economic development happening around the Austin FC stadium. A lot of that real estate is being purchased up because it's now prime real estate—it wasn't 40 years ago,” Svoboda said. “That required us to kind of look at where we needed to be long term, because also our business has grown. It's been growing exponentially.”

He emphasized that the company’s growth and expanded footprint in its new 45,000-square-foot facility will bring a range of job opportunities, from engineers to technicians and assemblers.

“There’s manufacturing happening right here in Austin,” Svoboda said.
