Desilicious—a South Indian cafe serving traditional, made-from-scratch dosas and idlys—is now open at the intersection of Parmer Lane and MoPac Expressway. The homestyle restaurant, 4101 W. Parmer Lane, Unit C, Austin, which opened on Jan. 26, uses all organic ingredients. The menu includes a variety of dosas, or pancakes made from rice flour, and idlys, or rice cakes. Customers can also enjoy spicy and savory snacks such as samosas and dahi baras, or yogurt dumplings with 10 different in-house chutneys.

"We make our own special stuffed idlys, some with cottage cheese and masala," Desilicious manager Krishna Kumar said. Kids menu includes heart shaped and shell shaped mini idlys.

The casual cafe style restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and then reopens for dinner at 5 p.m. 512-616-1212. www.desiliciouscafe.com
