Walnut Creek Pub opened Jan. 4 at 11806 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin. The restaurant space used to be Smokin Beauty Vietnamese barbecue. Wife-husband owners Thao Phan and Matt Roth, have converted the space to a pub serving drinks and a simplified menu with wings, fries, chips, poppers and queso with smoked meats on occasions.

“We will continue to serve the North Austin community we love so much,” Phan said in an email.
