A new Audi dealership will be built at 13045 Research Blvd., Austin. This is the latest development in the area from Hi Tech Motorcars, Austin’s largest luxury car dealer group, according to the company's website. The roughly 55,000-square-foot facility is estimated to be completed in August 2022, according to permitting documents.

Sporting a $9.5 million price tag, this Audi dealership is one of the first in the country to offer the All-Around Audi Progressive Retail Concept 3.0, according to Kirk Franceschini, Hi Tech Motorcars' chief operating officer. Developed in Germany, this method focuses on creating a seamless customer experience through lounge-style showrooms and interactive modules with large-format visualizations.

“It’s a whole new concept in retail automotive marketing,” Franceschini said. “This whole retail experience is going to be really cool, and that’s what we’re really excited about.”

Audi will be one of the first all-electric vehicle product lines, Franceschini said. Due to this, in addition to an updated interior, the facility will offer electric vehicle users a fast charging point that will charge cars in under 30 minutes. A digital networking system enabling customers to get advice on the go will also be included with the facility’s updates.

These updates to the facility will more than double the capacity to serve customers, hopefully resulting in a faster, higher-quality car-buying experience, Franceschini said. Though there is already an Audi dealership in North Austin, moving it near the highway will make it more convenient for customers, he said.

“It’s all part of us continuously giving the customer a unique, positive experience,” Franceschini said. “The services have to be about having a little bit of fun as well.”

Contractor SPD Construction LLC will complete the construction, which began Aug. 20. Established in 2016, Hi Tech Motorcars represents Audi, Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus, Maserati, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce in Central and South Texas. These facilities offer service and parts, online inventories and financing options for customers, according to their website.
