A free concert open to the public is coming at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 to Domain Northside with live music by The Wrecks, a New York-based punk band, according to a press release.

The street-side concert will be set up across from Restoration Hardware at 11720 Domain Blvd., Austin, and hosted by Domain Northside. There also will be pop-up bars from Jack & Ginger’s, yard games and photo opportunities for attendees.

The Wrecks will begin their performance on a 30,000-square-foot rooftop 3D guitar mural by Ignacio Garcia, above Perry’s Steakhouse, before descending to street level to join the crowd. The mural features a giant guitar with Austin icons and is one of the largest murals in the city to date.

“Last summer, we created our custom, one-of-a-kind rooftop mural as a placemaking statement—it’s now visible from Google Earth—but we wanted to take it a step further. Having a band like The Wrecks perform on the rooftop is the ultimate get,” said Alison Goodman, senior marketing director at Northwood Retail, in the press release.

The Wrecks’ top five tracks on Spotify have been listened to more than 80 million times, and their first single, “Favorite Liar,” was a Top 40 Alternative Radio hit. The free concert will mark the beginning of their tour.

“We love Austin and are so excited to come back for the ACL Radio show; truly it is one of our favorite cities to come through, so anytime we get to return it’s always a blast,” The Wrecks' bass player Aaron Kelley said in the press release.

Domain Northside will livestream the concert through Domain Northside’s YouTube Channel and ACL Radio Live for fans who cannot attend the in-person performance. There will be two giant screens flanking the street-side stage. Northside will also post more updates on its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
