In September, city staffers finished the design phase on improvements to the roadway between Spicewood Parkway and US 183. These improvements will include adding a center turn lane with turning bays, extending the right-turn lane to US 183, adding a raised median near US 183 and creating a new lane configuration at Olson Drive.
The city will also add continuous shared-use paths on both sides of the roadway and a pedestrian crossing signal near 9707 Anderson Mill Road and the Valero gas station.
Next steps include permitting the project and bidding for construction. The city also does not expect to have to use any funds from the Quarter Cent Fund for the project.
